Hello Members and Guests! October has been a Great Month. Judging by your comments, Kae Wagner, our speaker at the October luncheon, was informative and very well received. We are working hard to bring the best programming available to the sales and marketing community of Baton Rouge. We also received a number of very qualified applications for membership, which our board of directors has approved. We look forward to welcoming each of you at our next event November 20. We are coming off of a great Biz Tech and looking forward to an exciting Marketer of the Year Event.
Despite the challenges of Gustav in September, SME-GBR had a very successful September luncheon with over 55 in attendance. That success was followed by an impressive slate of nominees for Marketer of the Year. The selection panel (active past-presidents and selected past-MOY winners) did a marvelous job. The decision was tough but fair and we concluded the meeting having chosen seven outstanding marketing professionals. Congratulations to all of our MOY recipients for 2008.
I want to encourage each one of you to attend this prestigious event and bring someone with you as we recognize our Marketers of the Year on Thursday, November 20th at the Hilton Capitol Center.
If you haven't been to an annual Banquet before, it is a wonderful event. We'll begin with a Winners Reception at 6pm with cocktails for everyone at 6:30. Our Silent Auction runs from 6:30 through dinner (We have great items: jewelry, spa packages, travel, media packages, sports memorabilia and much more!). The Program will begin at 7:30 with the introduction of our Past Marketers of the Year. We encourage all past-MOY recipients and past-presidents to attend. Our 2008 distinguished marketers will be presented and will receive their award. You will also get to hear from each of them individually.
